This is a space created with a concept of an interactive music box. It was exhibited at “RobotMeme,” the exhibition held at Nihon Kagaku Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation). “P-noir” is a doll that merely repeats rotating in the space. However, once it has caught a signal sent from the sensor bar carried by a visitor, it moves in the direction of the sensor and begins to dance. Visitors swing about their sensor bars to see “P-noir” go through many different movements. Catching such signals, “P-noir” begins to show complicated movements according to the programs provided beforehand. Thus, it becomes a kind of work by which a third party can see how an object that was only a doll until then changes into an artificial thing having relations with others through interactive activities on both sides. Tokujin Yoshioka is in charge of the spatial design.
