The demand for humanoid robots in the real society arises when methodologies, technologies, and economy are matured. However, if already-proven existing technologies are combined and the place for using a robot is restricted, a space should be allowed for a robot to actually function in the society. A mannequin figure has a person’s appearance and has one job, which is “to make clothes fascinating.” By installing some existing robot technologies and intelligent system into this mannequin’s mission, a marketable humanoid robot could be developed, we thought. The theme of this project is realistic and beautiful innovation of replacing all mannequins in the show rooms around the world with such robots.
For the body size of “Palette,” a 9-head proportion of a supermodel who wears size 9 clothes was adopted because we thought it would put on the most expensive dress in the first place. As three human-feeling sensors are installed at the feet, it poses when it senses information on the position of a person. Postures can be designed basically with an original application. There are sixteen sorts of postures, and it is possible to arrange them according to the theme of each fashion brand. As its name suggests, “Palette” is a tool to make clothes attractive just like a tool that a painter has. With the development of various devices and software to create a work on canvas, that is actually a show window, “Palette” continues to give inspiration to a space.
